January 2024 - Allen Ehrke

 Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and is looking forward to 2024! I will get you caught up on Allen’s family:


Tim (the oldest) and Allen R.(the youngest) live in Viborg, SD. Tim works at the local school a couple days a week, and both volunteer with Feed South Dakota. They also keep busy with their pets - a dog and a cat. 


Greg and his wife Mindy moved to Tyler, MN this past fall as Mindy became the head pastor at the Tyler parish. Greg retired from teaching about four years ago but continues to substitute teach occasionally. Their oldest son, Chris, lives in Tea, SD and works for Wells Fargo bank. Their daughter Sara welcomed her first child, Ronen, with husband Chad in March. They are living in Sioux Falls, SD. Daniel, their youngest son, lives with his wife Reiko and their children Lionel, Iris, and Daisy in Jacksonville, FL - they certainly enjoyed a warmer winter than us in the Midwest!


Stuart works for Twin City Fans and lives in Aberdeen, SD. Brian also lives in Aberdeen and has been retired for the last several years. He stays busy with his NFL fantasy drafts and fishing trips. 


I (Jean) and my husband Eric moved from Nebraska to Madison, SD a couple years ago. Eric retired in March 2023. We keep busy traveling, fishing, and golfing at the course that’s about a block from our house! Our son Nick and his wife Kylie live in Sioux Falls, SD with their dog, Hachi. Nick is a recruiter, and Kylie is in the dog grooming business. Daughter Hannah lives in Minneapolis, MN with her dog, Millie. She works for Cargill on their insurance team. 


We all try to get together several times a year - now that Eric and I live in South Dakota, it’s been easier to host family gatherings for Easter, 4th of July, and Thanksgiving.

  We hope all of you are well and enjoying the spring weather.  Here is what is happening from the Bob Ehrke side of the family. Bob He continues to enjoy living at West Hill Village in Rapid City.  Uncle Bob is busy going to weekly exercise classes, educational presentations, coffee with friends and church when the weather is good.  He also follows South Dakota State baseball, basketball football and local high school sports. Carol Bartnett The St. Louis crew is healthy and staying busy. Carol continues as Quality Assurance manager at Novus International, Inc, working remotely with some occasional travel. Carol joined Brian’s family on a Disney cruise in December and all had a great time. Brian works as a manager for Enterprise in corporate financial analysis. He and Amber stay busy with their very active 3-year old, Eleanor, who is involved in swimming, gymnastics and soccer at a toddler level. She will soon have a sister as Br...

Welcome!

  (Photo from the 2023 Ehrke Reunion in Aberdeen, South Dakota) Hello and welcome to the Ehrke Family website!  We are so glad you are here! On this site you will be able to catch up on everything Ehrke!  We will bring the original 9's Round Robin back to life while we all share updates, stories, photos and more. All we need is for each of the Original 9's families to assign a spokesperson.  That spokesperson will send in an update on how everyone from their 9's lineage is doing, exciting updates, photos, etc. for us all to read and enjoy.  We will take turns in the order of the Original 9's births (Albert, Frances, Arleen, Allen, Warren, Anita, Jean, Ronald, Robert) so an update will only need to be sent in once every 8 months. We are very excited to stay up to date with everyone and find out what has been going on with all of the families on the Ehrke tree.
